Making salt dough at home is a fun, easy, and kid-friendly activity. It requires minimal ingredients, is very versatile, and can be a great activity for your home classroom! Your kids are sure to love making it with you and watching their craft come to life. In just 1 - 2 days, the dough dries into an inexpensive, fun keepsake for your friends and family to enjoy for a lifetime!
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup salt
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- Food coloring (optional)
Combine water and salt in a large bowl.
Gradually mix in the flour and stir until the mixture is well combined and forms a ball.
If desired, add food coloring (I used 2 drops of red to create this pink color).
On a lightly floured surface, knead dough until firm.
Place your child’s hands or feet in the dough to create an imprint. Decorate to your liking and let dry 1 - 2 days.
Enjoy your beautiful keepsake!
